Last Saturday Casey and I were able to go to the Elton John/Billy Joel concert being held at the National's baseball stadium. My parents were in town visiting and were able to make this whole event possible by watching Austin for the evening. Thanks Oma and Opa! You're the best! :)
The concert was an early anniversary gift to each other and we had a really great time. We ended up being over 30 minutes late (thru a comedy of errors with DC's "amazing" Metro system) but actually didn't miss a thing. Apparantly when Elton John came out to perform 1st his piano began malfunctioning and the pedal got stuck to they had to bring Billy Joel and his crew out to perform instead so they could repair Elton's piano. We got there right as Billy Joel was coming on stage. He performed and it was awesome! Then Elton came back out and performed and it was great too! Then they both came on stage and played together and sang each others songs. A super fun night! :)
The new Nationals Baseball stadium was nice too. We haven't been to a game this year but will definitely try to make one next season, hopefully.
Here were are before the concert getting ready to leave.
This is the actual view from our seats with no zoom. I think there were 10 rows behind us and then the end of the stadium. Can't I get "3rd deck SCREAM!" Holla! This video clip was Elton John's "Crocodile Rock" and letting the fans sing the chorus. Pretty cool except the drunk guy in front of us being an idiot the whole show. :)
