Another 1st for Austin today...he helped carve his own jack-o-lantern! :) We've tried in years past but have never been able to get him interested in it so we just kind of gave up on it for now and figured maybe in the future.
Austin's teachers told us this week that they carved a pumpkin in school and Austin was interested in it and LOVED taking the top on and off. So we thought...let's give it a try again!
We went to Oma and Opa's for the event and all in all it was a success. Austin was not "in to" everything but he did take an interest in some aspects of it.
Helping Daddy scoop out the "guts." Definitely NOT about putting his hands in and pulling out seeds.
DEFINITELY obsessed with the pumpkin top...had to "hide" it for a while. :)
Austin took a break to play with his numbers.
He would start at the beginning and look at the number, say it's name, and then move on. Pretty cool! :)
Austin also really liked taking the eyes and nose of the pumpkin and placing them back inside like it was a puzzle.
Finished product!
Austin kept running up to the pumpkin and saying "Trick or Treat!" He knows that a jack-o-lantern means that it's time to trick or treat.
Oooooooooo...scary! :0
Our SPOOKY house!
Oh...AND...it decided to snow today! WHAT? It's not even Halloween yet. :/

Trick or treat! Love it. We had snow on halloween last year so I feel your pain! Are your numbers montessori materials? They are so cool.
