"My Baby Can Read"

Have you ever watched the infomercial on TV for "My Baby Can Read"??? It's pretty cool, I have to say. It a program for infants and toddlers that teaches them to read at an early age. In the beginning it focuses on object recognition or memorization while the video varies the colors of the text and background and/or the font of the word. This teaches the child that the shape is what is important and not the color or style of word. Eventually this teaches the child about patterns and they are able to recognize words easier. Then phonics is incorporated into the videos to teach the child the importance of how to learn a new word when it is introduced.

Pretty cool, huh! We have been working on this with Austin since January and are still pretty early into the series. In the beginning, Austin was not a huge fan but now he REALLY enjoys it. I think this program has also helped to initiate some simple language in him. Along with all the other treatments and therapies we do with Austin, he is making GREAT PROGRESS! :)

These are just the first 2 books with their corresponding flash cards. This is where we are and probably will be for a while but THANK GOODNESS he has fun with it. :)
