Big Philly

With life being so busy these days, we decided to take a time-out and go to Philadelphia for the long weekend. It was great! We stayed right downtown within walking distance of all the historical sites. It was wonderful to just get away and have a low-key weekend with Austin.

This is a big fountain outside our hotel. Funny thing...in Philly the public is allowed to get into all the fountains and use then like a swimming pools. I think you'd get arrested in DC if you tried to do that! :)

We went to Fairmount Park to see the Rocky statue. (Didn't get a pic though, there was a really long line).

My BEAUTIFUL boy!

Here we are at Independence Hall. The Declaration of Independence was signed in the building right behind us.

Unfortunately, Independence Hall was under construction so they had put up a tarp showing what the building looks like underneath all the scaffolding.

We couldn't go to Philadelphia without making a stop at Sesame Place. :)

Austin's 1st ever amusement park ride!

Unfortunately, by this time Austin was quite overheated and wasn't looking too good. Austin tends to get weak very quickly in the heat (don't know why) even though we pump him full of water and food. :(

Next stop...snack break and drenching Austin with water! :)

Next we tried the rope netting. Note to parents! This is SO MUCH EASIER for kids than us! :)

Immediately after this pic was taken, Casey got his foot caught in the netting which made him trip and fall. The best part was that he couldn't get his footing and rolled head over feet about 4 or 5 times all the way down to the bottom. I so wish I had been filming this one! Would have been a PERFECT youtube clip. :)

This water area was SO STRESSFUL for ME! There wasn't a place in the whole area where you weren't getting buckets of water or something poured on your head. I could barely catch my breath! So we made a switch to a different water area.

Ahhhh! More like it! :)

Snack break again!

This is what happens to your kid once they've been PARTIED OUT at Sesame Place. :)

Mission accomplished! One tired kid after a great weekend away from home. :)
