MB12 Treatment

As many of you may know, Austin began his first new treatment, MB12 shots, about a week ago. MB12 stands for methyl-B12 which is a different formula of the common B12 vitamin. This formula can be absorbed more easily by Austin. He gets an injection every 3 days that is administered at home by us. The first shot was a little scary but we know it will get easier every time.

This picture shows the actual syringe. The tube on the left is a numbing cream that we put on about an hour before we give the shot and Austin doesn't feel anything. It's great! The hardest part is getting Austin to actually sit still. He's a little wiggle worm sometimes but he is getting better and better each time. The shots have to be angled and given right underneath the skin so that makes it a little challenging as well but it also gets easier each time too.

This picture gives you an idea of the size of the syringe. It is quite small and the needle is only about 7mm long (very small). The syringes come pre-filled so the red stuff is the actual MB12.

We just ask for everyone to continue praying for Austin and all the new treatments we will be undergoing over the next several months and years. We are at the very beginning of our journey but are positive and hopeful of the potential outcomes.
