For the past several weeks, Austin has been OBSESSED with Christmas decorations. Over and over and over again he would come up to Casey and say, "I want tower key!" Tower key is code name for the hook that we use to open the pulldown attic ladder. Casey would oblige him and together they would crawl up in the attic and go through the Christmas decorations and decide on 1 or 2 to bring down. As you can imagine, our collection of decorations (now in the guest room where Austin decided he wanted to set them up) has grown bigger and bigger each week with every new visit up to the attic.
It has been so cute to watch Austin get such joy and excitement over these decorations. We frequently hear him singing Christmas songs from different videos he watches and then (of course) constant scripting of lines from his favorite Christmas shows. This is the first year that Austin is making connections about many of the traditions of Christmas that all kids experience. We've been waiting for this! :)
So today Casey and I thought we would give Austin a special treat...his very own Christmas tree for his room! :) We went to Home Depot and picked one out. As soon as we put it in the cart, Austin would not stop saying, "Open it, please!" SO CUTE! We got home and immediately broke it out and went to town decorating Austin's room. He was very particular on how he wanted the lights and ornaments hung on the tree. BUT HE LOVES IT!
Is this not the coolest room??!!
WARNING!!! It might be Christmas all year here at the Blackburns! :)

This post just makes me smile ear-to-ear and puts me in the holiday mood!! Maybe I'll watch White Christmas, or something. :)
